Pentecost and the Spirit Witness
About this series
Proclaim!
Paul ends his letter to the believers in Colosse by instructing them to share the message of God’s grace with people outside the church (Colossians 4:2-6). This was not a new command. Just before Jesus ascended to the Father, He promised his followers that the Spirit would empower them to be witnesses “to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). On the Day of Pentecost, the birthday of the church, Peter proclaimed the gospel to people “from every nation under heaven” (Acts 2:5). A couple thousand years later, we are still called to proclaim the good news of the gospel in our town and around the world.

What Now?
1) Are you prepared to share the gospel with others? Do you know what you
would say? Take time this week to write down what you would say if asked to
share.
2) Is there someone you can share the gospel with this week? If not, pray and
ask God to give you opportunities to do so.
